Head of Data & AI

About the Role

As Head of Data & AI, you'll join our Technology Leadership Team and drive the strategic evolution of our data engineering and artificial intelligence capabilities. This is a senior leadership role where you'll shape how we leverage data to deliver exceptional value to our clients in the funds industry.

You'll lead a dedicated team in Bratislava, architecting scalable data infrastructure using cutting-edge technologies, including DataBricks, Azure. Your work will directly enable enhanced insights, operational efficiencies, and position us for sustainable growth.

What You'll Drive

Team Leadership & Strategy

• Lead and mentor our Data & AI team, fostering technical excellence and alignment with business objectives

• Drive innovation through machine learning models, advanced analytics, and AI integration (including OpenAI/GPT technologies)

• Partner with Technology Leadership to define and execute our data and AI roadmap

Technical Excellence

• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures using DataBricks and Azure

• Oversee data governance, quality assurance, and compliance across all data initiatives

• Support seamless service transitions during migrations and technical upgrades

Business Impact

• Collaborate with stakeholders across investor relations, fund management, and automation to identify high-value opportunities

• Translate complex data challenges into strategic advantages

• Primary focus: funds business applications, with potential support for other business lines

What You Bring

Essential Experience

• 7+ years in Data Engineering and AI roles with proven team leadership experience

• Deep expertise in DataBricks (this is critical for success in this role)

• Strong proficiency with Azure services and data integration tools

• Demonstrated success leading teams, mentoring talent, and managing complex projects

Technical Foundation

• Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and agile practices

• Experience with compliance requirements and data governance in regulated environments

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven mindset
