To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Breda.
The Role
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial administration of a diverse portfolio of international clients. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting needs.
This position offers a dynamic and varied workload, requiring a proactive, hands-on professional who thrives in a client-focused environment. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines and jurisdictions, contributing to the delivery of high-quality services and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Record, process, and maintain accurate accounting transactions and journal entries.
• Manage the complete accounting administration for client entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statutory accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT, ICP, and other relevant tax filings.
• Set up and maintain financial administrations for new and existing client structures.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reconciliations.
• Prepare financial analyses and management reports.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, compliance issues, and reporting irregularities.
• Assist with corporate income tax matters and coordinate with internal and external tax specialists where required.
• Support audits and liaise with external auditors, advisors, and regulatory authorities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with international clients, stakeholders, advisors, and governmental bodies.
• Support, coach, and share knowledge with junior team members.
• Contribute to process improvements and the continuous enhancement of service delivery.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required within the Accounting Department.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a professional services, fund services, trust, or international business environment.
• Solid knowledge of Dutch GAAP (DGAAP) and/or IFRS.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize workloads, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently.
• Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency in both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
