Lawyer/ Legal Counsel (Corporate and Financial Services)

Bolder is a boutique international provider of private, corporate, fund and governance services to a wide array of clients from its offices located around the globe. As part of our rapid expansion in Asia, we are currently searching for a Lawyer for our Philippines office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of our globally based Governance team and to work on various legal and governance duties, both in-house and client related. Your responsibility, together with the team, will be to ensure that new clients are serviced seamlessly and that the group is compliant with any applicable laws and regulations.

The role:

• Keeping the group in good standing by ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations;
• Working on various legal documents, such as agreements, resolutions and correspondence, in relation to the group;
• Guiding the onboarding process for clients (inter alia, assembling know your customer documents, drafting agreements, reviewing legal documents, arranging for various administrative matters);
• Coordinating the governance services provided to our clients, ensuring a high level of service to clients through seamless communication; and
• Managing a team of paralegals / corporate officers and guiding them in their work.

Your profile:

• Law degree is basically a prerequisite, preferably with expertise in the fields of corporate and / or financial law, although applicants without a law degree but with relevant expertise will be considered as well;
• Preferably 5-7 years of experience within a legal or financial organisation as a lawyer, in-house counsel or similar role, with a focus on corporate and / or financial law;
• Ideally specialised in one or more of our governance services, more specifically AML or FATCA / CRS;

• A team player with a very proactive attitude and a client orientated approach; and
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in English, both written and spoken.
